After two days of discussions by both the ruling and opposition parties, the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly today passed the budget for 2017-18 FY through voice vote.
Deputy CM Chowna Mein who holds the Finance portfolio initiated the proceedings. Participating in the budget discussion CM Pema Khandu reiterated the Government’s commitment to treat all constituencies equally irrespective of political affiliations and also gave equal stress to the agri-horti sector. Khandu assured the house of the budget’s implementation from next month itself.
Chief Minister Dashboard proposal
Khandu vows to root out corruption by priortising the IT sector and vowed to achieve that through paperless administration. The budget also included the proposal to set up the Chief Minister’s Dashboard. This one-of-a-kind initiative will have all the flagship schemes of the Government for effective monitoring. The CM also vowed to bring private investment in the State.
Itanagar Airport to be upgraded
Khandu said special emphasis will be given regarding the upgradation of the Itanagar airport. Not only that, the CM also pointed out that six Advanced Landing Grounds (ALG)’s have already been upgraded in the State.
