Noted Bodo novelist Chittaranjan Mushahary passed away last night at his own residence in Belguri, Kokrajhar. He was suffering from multiple diseases and was admitted to a hospital, sources said. Several Bodo organisations have expressed deep condolences over Mushahary’s death.
Chittaranjan Mushahary was born in 1945 and has written many Novels and short stories. He had won many awards including the Praban Bongayary Award (2015), Rangsar Literary Award and Someswary Brahma Literary Award.
He was born at Belguri village of Kokrajhar district in Assam. His father was Longkeswar Mushahary and mother was Durgabati Mushahary. He started writing during his childhood. He was perhaps best known for his 1962 novel Jujaini Or (Fire of Husk), and he has written over 65 novels and 4 short story collections.
To condemn his demise, BTC administration declared half holiday in four districts- Kokrajhar, Baksa, Udalgur and Chirang.
