Prof Niranjan Karak of the Department of Chemical Sciences, Tezpur University has been awarded with the prestigious Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) in recognition of his contribution to the field of chemistry. Royal Society of Chemistry is the world’s leading chemistry community, advancing excellence in the Chemical Sciences.
Prof Karak has been consistently working to develop advanced polymers, nanomaterials and their nanocomposites at the Centre for Polymer Science and Technology, Dept of Chemical Sciences, Tezpur University.
His research areas are Polymer Nanocomposites, Nanomaterials, Hyper Branched Polymers and Smart Materials is no stranger to recognition. In 2017, he was jointly awarded ‘The Visitor’s Award’ in ‘research’ category along with Dr Shyam Sundar from Banaras Hindu University.
He is also the recipient of 3rd National Award (one winner and one commendation) for Technology Innovation in Petrochemicals and Downstream Plastics Processing Industry by Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt of India, 2013 and Dr Arvind Kumar Memorial Award by Indian Council of Chemists (ICC), 2012.
Prof Karak has several high quality research articles published in prestigious journals/books.
