20-year-old Manipur based youth and fitness enthusiast, Ji-Ingobi Chingtham, will go on a solo cycling adventure from Kharghar in Navi Mumbai to New Delhi this Sunday, October 7. Chingtham, who is also a professional fitness trainer, aims to complete this cycling trip of 1420 kms within five days in order to enter the Indian record books. Talking to the media, Chingtham said that he is inspired by the latest slogan ‘Hum fit, toh India fit’ (If we are fit, then the entire nation is fit).
He will commence the ride from Central Park in Kharghar at 10 am on 7th October, and hopes to reach India Gate in Delhi on the fifth day, which is October 11. Taking into account the scorching October heat, Chingtham has tough task ahead, but he added that his love for fitness and cycling will help overcome all challenges.
Earlier, in April this year, this Manipuri lad had cycled 3100 km from Imphal to New Delhi in 23 days to spread the message of `Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ (Save our girls, educate the girl child) throughout his trip. He stopped in various towns, villages and cities to interact with people, especially school children, to talk to them about the importance of learning and education.
