The 22nd National Conference on e-Governance will be held in Meghalaya on August 8 and 9, which will be the first in the Northeast. ‘The two-day event would provide considerable momentum to e-Governance initiatives in the region, providing opportunities to civil servants’ said V Srinivas of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
The theme of the conference is ‘Digital India: Success to Excellence’. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), in association with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Meghalaya government is organizing the conference.
This is the first time such an event is being organized in the region, stated Srinivas. The conference at Shillong is part of the DARPG”s 100 days initiatives. Discussions will be held on five sub-themes in plenary sessions. Four breakout sessions will be held on the sub-themes.
As many as 28 states and eight Union Territories have confirmed their participation in the two-day conference in which over 450 delegates are expected to participate. An exhibition will also be held to showcase India’s achievements in the field of e-Governance, along with a hall of fame/photo exhibition on the award winners. About 15 states would be presenting their IT initiatives and success stories in the breakout sessions.
