The SAFF Women’s Championship will kick start in December this year and the girls from the Northeast is ready to shine for their country.
Northeast has always been a power house of football within the country and the girls are proving it in style. As many as 18 out of 35 players from the Northeast have been called for the preparatory camp.
The Indian team were the champions in all the three earlier editions with players from Northeast coming with extra ordinary efforts to take their team to glory.
In the 2014 edition, Bala Devi from Manipur scored 16 goals from just five matches. This time too, expectations are high from this fast and prolific scorer for India.
India will play their first match against Afghanistan on December 27, 2016, while they will face Bangladesh on December 31, 2016).
