On the very first day of the year, Assam Police has gifted a ‘Citizen-Portal’ to the people of the State. The pilot project has been launched under the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems project.
Informing about the initiative, ADGP (Communication) Anil Kumar Jha said, ‘We will initially offer only a few services. The e-services will be available to citizens having internet connections, enabling them to avail the services without visiting the police station.’ He further disclosed that presently e-services will be available for tenant verification, domestic help verification/employee verification, character certificate, protest or strike request and event a performance request.
‘Soon the portal will include registration of complaints, through which anyone will be able to file a complaint from anywhere,’ he stated. In Assam, the CCTNS project implementation has been completed in 312 police stations and 154 offices of higher offices.
The portal can be easily used by accessing www.assampolice.assam.gov.in.
