Picturesque Seppa in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh is set to host the three-day Kameng River Festival. Starting from January 21 for the first time on the banks of the Kameng River, it is aimed to attract tourists to the beautiful district. Based on the theme of ‘Explore the Unexplored’, this tourism extravaganza has been organized by East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO) jointly with District Administration and State Tourism Department.
There are several interesting activities planned for the adrenaline junkies like white water rafting, paragliding, zip-lining, rappelling and angling, both modern and traditional, including local fish-trapping. Besides, bamboo stilt walks, cycling to villages, greasy bamboo pole climbing, beach volleyball, archery and paintball will be some of the major attractions.
Wildlife meat is banned in this festival to preserve the flora and fauna of this place. As this will be a plastic-free event, only traditional bamboo utensils will be used. Specially constructed toilets have been installed for public use. This tourism fest will offer accommodation in the form of home stays. Local mouthwatering delicacies will also be on offer at the event.
