Picturesque Pelling in West Sikkim is set to a host a five-day long winter tourism extravaganza. This winter festival is given the moniker Kanchendzonga because this majestic peak can be viewed from Pelling.
Starting from 25 and continuing onto 29 December, this tourism fest is scheduled to be held at various places. Aimed at promoting the tourism potential of Sikkim, in the form of homestays, trekking, natural sightseeing, it is one way to boost tourism. Some of the highlights of this fest are Christmas celebrations, food fest, dance competition and fashion show, mountain biking, rock climbing, paragliding, helicopter ride, marathon and much more.
Time: It takes about 11 hours (approx) to reach Pelling from Guwahati via NH 31C.
