In a major development in ‘Operation All-out’, one cadre of National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) (S) was killed in a joint operation launched by the Indian Army and Kokhrajhar Police in the wee hours of Tuesday.
While informing about the incident, IGP (BTAD) L R Bishnoi told ENe, ‘Based on the information on Tuesday morning, Indian Army (7 Jat) and Kokhrajhar Police launched a joint operation in Silaimatha forest area in Tipkai area of Kokhrajhar’.
He further added that during the operation, NDFB (S) cadre Nerswn Brahma alias Naidaw was killed. ‘Naidaw was allegedly involved in the 2012 Boro- Muslim violence which took place in Kokhrajhar and Chirang district of Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District (BTAD).’ ‘Naidaw had undertaken training in Bangladesh,’ he further pointed out.
‘One AK-47 rifle with two magazines, 44 live rounds, two bags, two mobile phones, extortion notes, solar plate and other incriminating materials were recovered from the militant,’ IGP (BTAD) informed.
