A two-part documentary series, Red Bull Tour Bus Hometown Heroes aims to take leading musicians, who have settled in cities other than those of their origin, back to their hometown, to relive the journeys that have brought them to the present moment in their lives.
Angaraag Mahanta, better known as Papon, is undoubtedly one of the most iconic musicians to have emerged from Guwahati in recent times. While his musical journey undeniably began at home, his career was launched in Delhi and further established in Mumbai. Through two expansive episodes, Red Bull Tour Bus Hometown Heroes will document Papon’s journey from Guwahati to Delhi to Mumbai, through tales retold by family and friends, as well as the people he met along the way who have contributed in ways both big and small to his career. The episodes will also capture the breathtaking landscape and vibrant culture and ethos of the region, which have been hugely influential to both Papon’s life as well as music.
Custom-built beam by beam chassis-up, the Red Bull Tour Bus is a fantastic machine that transforms into an entirely self-contained live stage, with the ability to host gigs nearly anywhere desired.
