The Gauhati High Court has temporarily put a stay on the order of disqualification of 14 dissident Congress MLAs from Arunachal Pradesh Assembly by Speaker Nabam Rebia during the political turmoil, i.e on 15th December 2015.
Interacting with ENe, a senior advocate from Guahati High Court said, ‘Justice B.K Sharma gave the interim order following a writ petition filed by dissidents MLAs challenging the speaker’s order.’
He further stated that according to these rebel MLAs the order of disqualification was passed by the speaker in violation of natural justice without giving them an opportunity of hearing.
‘The next hearing of the case has been scheduled on January 7,’ he further informed.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has submitted a detailed report regarding recent political developments in the state.
He further claimed that the decision to pre-pone Assembly session was taken by Governor JP Rajkhowa without having any discussion with him and other council of Ministers, which is unconstitutional. ‘All confusion in the mind of the people was created by the Governor,’ he slammed.
However, the Prime Minister has assured that he would examine the report and will take appropriate decisions pertaining to the same.
