Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar rules out all speculation regarding the alliance between ruling party CPI (M) and Congress in order to counter BJP during the next Tripura legislative Assembly election.
‘It was quite contrary to speculative reports in the media and was not even discussed at the plenum,’ clarified Sarkar.
He further said that Leftists are always against the policies of both Congress and BJP. ‘Only difference between them is that Congress does not engage in direct politics on communal lines like BJP,’ he shared, adding, ‘Otherwise, their policies are also to serve the interests of the rich.’
Meanwhile, Tripura Pradesh Congress president Birajit Sinha has also denied any such possibility in Tripura, by saying that common people are the worst sufferers in the Left regime.
However, BJP leaders claimed that there is a longstanding mutual understanding of the Communists and Congress to achieve their political gains.
BJP state president Sudhindra Dasgupta asserted that intellectuals and political analysts are well aware of the fact that both CPM and Congress played a political drama to fool people in order to retain power. ‘Both the parties are same and far from the sense of nationalism, except their narrow political agenda,’ slammed Dasgupta.
