Guwahati doesn’t have too many lounges or places where people can relax on a weekend. Some places offer decent food but lack good music and vice versa but with the launch of Zero Degree, we are hoping that the scene will be different.
Located on the first floor of Gulshan Grand building at Super Market, the lounge will highlight fusion food, focusing on Indian, Chinese and Indonesian. A meal for two will cost around Rs 1000-1200. As for the playlist, they aim to play jazz music for now but they will try and keep in mind public demand as well. They also plan to have live gigs from time to time.
Owner Tabreez Choudhury shares that he personally took the time to make sure the interiors were unique and different. He has mainly used wood and ropes for the decoration. He has brought real liquor barrels from France and has a chandelier made of 1685 beer bottles. Interestingly, the chandelier will compete for Limca Book of Records as the current record holder is comprised of only 1504 beer bottles. Tabreez has three restaurants in Bangalore and this is his fourth venture, a first at his hometown.
Zero Degree has different dishes and 27 of them are patented. Tabreez recommends the Dooms Day Platter. It has rice, noodles and paneer balls for vegetarian section and chicken balls for the non vegetarian section.
