Witnessing the condition of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), the newly-appointed AICC general secretary in-charge of Meghalaya CP Joshi has directed the top brass of Meghalaya Congress to remain united in order to defeat the evil design of the Opposition to spread its wings in the region further. This was informed by the MPCC president DD Lapang after meeting with Joshi on Tuesday.
Besides Lapang, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and MPCC working president Deborah Marak met Joshi here separately and apprised him about the State of affairs of the party and the Government in the Hill State, ‘It was a courtesy call,’ said the trio. They were unanimous that there was no discussion on the current dissensions in the party and the Government.
Joshi later said that he would visit the State shortly and the date would be finalized after consultation with the Chief Minister and the MPCC president. He will meet not only all the MLAs but also top party functionaries.
Joshi gave emphasis on gearing up both the party and the Government for the next assembly election scheduled to be held in 2018, Sangma said after the meeting.
According to the party source, Shillong MP Vincent H Pala will meet CP Joshi within next few days.
