Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has stated that people of the Northeast are looking up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a ‘game-changer’ as far as development of the region and emotional integration of the people here with the rest of the country are concerned.
‘The spectacular performance of the BJP-led alliance in the neighbouring State of Assam last month (May) is an indication that the people acknowledge the performance of the NDA government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,’ said Zeliang.
Zeliang further lauded the PM for his various development initiatives and expressed confidence that the NE would see a drastic change under the PM’s leadership.
‘It is under his direction that leaders and officials of the Union government have been regularly visiting the Northeast,’ Zeliang pointed out, adding, ‘We are happy to learn that the foundation for a hostel for female students from the region was laid by Union minister for DoNER in Bangalore.’
‘We are also pleased that another such hostel is being proposed at JNU and the NEC has acquired a plot for that,’ the CM added.
Zeliang referred to Modi’s diplomatic skills and statesmanship, attributing the rising position of India on the global map to Modi’s skills.
