Chandan Boro, a nine-year-old kid studying in fourth standard who hails from Udalguri district of Assam has been selected to train at Bittburg, Germany for six years. The selection camp was organised at Kokrajhar in the last month by the Tata Trust, Mumbai under the Football Development Program in partnership with U Sports Mumbai and Germany under U Dream Football for selection of budding U-15 football talents.
The aim of the scheme is to get football talents recognized and give them training at an international lever from a young age. Chandan will be leaving for Germany in August. Chandan comes from a family which is financially very weak as his father works as a cleaner in a local market and his mother works in a small tea shop. They have been living in a small hut on a land that is owned by the Railways.
