Football fever is catching up in Assam with the ensuing Bordoloi Trophy and ISL. In this scenario, the news of Chandan Boro, a nine year old boy from Udalguri being selected for football training in Germany is nothing short of inspirational.
Journey from Udalguri to Germany
Boro is the son of sweeper and helper in tea shop, Nripen Boro. That he has been selected to the residential football camp of German Bundesliga Club TSG Hoffenheim is the stuff of legends.
The class IV student of North Harisinga LP School has earned a rare opportunity of imparting training in football at Germany for six years. He is the only boy to be selected from Assam for the football course in Bittburg.
He was picked at the selection camp organised by Tata Trust in association with U Sports Mumbai and TSF Hoffenheim held at Kokrajhar in June. The programme aimed at unearthing of U-15 talents in the football world.
On his maiden journey to Germany, he will be joined by Badonlang Rapsang. Rapsang is another young footballer from Meghalaya selected for the same training course.
