The shooting sport has been made popular in India by Olympic medalists Abhinav Bindra, Rajyavardhan Rathore etc. But to further popularize it and get people interested in the sport, a lot more needs to be done.
Keeping this in mind, The Arunachal State Rifle Association (ASRA) will establish its first indoor 10 and 25 meter Shooting Range in Itanagar. It is believed that the State has a vast potential of shooting skill amongst the youth. This move was made to tap that potential and make it a popular sport in Arunachal Pradesh.
A delegation of ASRA led by its President Michal Pangin met Chief Minister Pema Khandu in his chamber to discuss this issue. The meeting was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary for tourism P D Sona, who is also the Chief Advisor of ASRA. Tezu MLA Dr Mahesh Chai, an ardent shooting enthusiast, was also present at the meeting.
