Written, scripted and directed by national award-winning filmmaker Sanjib Sabhapandit, Diksou Bonot Polax is about the journey of a young Assamese man who wanders to the Naga Hills after being banished from home. He falls in love with a Naga damsel who gives him some coins to help him out. But due to some circumstances, they get separated. Years later, the protagonist decides to revisit the place to return those coins.
Produced by the Assam Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Ltd and Utpal Kumar Das of Canvascope, a production house, Diksou Bonot Polax is the only Assamese film selected for the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which will start on November 20 in Goa.
The film stars veteran actor Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee along with Naga actress Lolenla Ao, Chikmik, and Mala Goswami. It was released on September 30.
