The fact that Delhi continues to be a nightmare for women was established once again after a young woman died after being stabbed multiple times during rush hour in Gurgaon Metro Station. The victim identified as Pinki (22) hails from Meghalaya. Pink worked in a beauty parlour in the Rohini area of the city. She was stabbed around eight to 10 times by a young man identified as Jitendra. The attacker was caught by people and handed over to the police.
Stalking leading to murder
The police suspect that the man knew Pinki, who was married, and followed her. They both are residents of Gurgaon’s Sector 18. Jitendra struck when Pinki had just entered the station and no Central Industrial Security Force men – who are in charge of security – were present. ‘The incident happened in a part of the station where there is no CISF presence,’ an official said.
Pinky was taken to a hospital where she died around 11.30 am. There was deep wound in her neck and abdomen and some of her veins were also slit. She died after reaching the hospital.
Pinki’s husband Man Singh informed cops that the victim was speaking to her over phone when the attack happened. He said that he heard the cries of his wife before the line got disconnected. Man Singh has alleged that the accused Jitendra, who is an auto-rickshaw driver by profession, was stalking Pinki since last few days.
