Tourism is all set get a boost in Assam as three tourist trains are set to be introduced in the State in the coming months.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 2nd edition of three-day Judima Festival at Dibarai village near Haflong in Dima Hasao district, Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain, said that the first train will be introduced by the end of January and the other two will be introduced in phases.
The first tourist train will be introduced between Guwahati and Dimapur in Nagaland. The other two routes will be between Guwahati and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh and the third train will run between Haflong and Agartala in Tripura will be introduced in phases.
In his address as the special guest of the festival, the railway minster said another train between Haflong and Guwahati will be introduced in the next couple of months. Gohain also informed the gathering that the Centre is going to organize a North-East Festival soon.
