The crowd funding campaign started on Wishberry.in by the Local Kung Fu 2 team was a huge success. With a total sum of Rs 8,86,081 pledged by 478 backers, the campaign raised more than enough money required to fund the post production of the film.
Actor-director Kenny Basumatary recently uploaded a video on Youtube to thank the supporters. ‘A big thank you to all the contributors who made our crowd funding campaign a huge success. Of course, we have got no time to rest now. We need to start the censor process as soon as possible. The Mumbai censor committee that we got for Local Kung Fu were a group of really nice people and hopefully the Guwahati committee will also have progressive people who help us out quickly.’
Local Kung Fu 2 by director Kenny Basumatary is an adaption of William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors. Scheduled to be released on April 19, the film has been shot in both Assamese and Hindi and will be the first ever sequel in Assamese cinema.
