Selloi Langmai Eco Park is an ideal spot for you if you are looking for serenity of nature. It is also the perfect escape from the daily bustle of the city. Situated near Laphupokpi, at the foothills of the Nongmaijing Hill range, under Imphal East district, the 13 acres park which is about 10 km from Imphal, is open to tourists from 9 am till 5 pm in the evening during summer and 9 am to 4 pm during winter season.
Since its inauguration in 2010 by the then Tourism Minister of Manipur, TN Haokip, locals and travellers including a handful of foreign tourists have been flocking to the park.
Initially the park was established by an NGO formed by unemployed youths called Eastern Ecology Conservation Organisation (EECO), however realising the potential of the park, the Environment and Ecology Wing which is under the Tourism Department of Manipur funded the development work of the park.
There are many other parks and gardens in Manipur. Uyokching Ecological Park situated at Kakching, under Thoubal district is also quite popular among tourists. The park is situated at a hill top about 6 km from the National Highway 2 connecting Imphal with Myanmar. Others popular tourist spots are LG Rose Garden-Imphal West district, Millennium Garden and Silheipung Park Imphal East districts.
