Kanchendzonga National Park, Sikkim
It covers an area of 850 sq kms, is located in Sikkim. It is home to many endangered species like Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Red Panda, and Asiatic Wild Dog. The park is also full of medicinal plants, herbs, alpine grasses and trees like oak, fir, birch, maple and willow.
If you are into bird-watching that this is the ideal destination for you. More than 500 species of birds are found in Kanchendzonga National Park, including Blood Pheasant, Osprey, Tragopan, Tibetan Snow Cock, Sunbird etc. The best time to visit between April and May.

Balphakram National Park, Meghalaya
It is one of the popular hotspots for travellers. It is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna like water buffalo, red panda, different species of cats, and elephants. It also has various species of butterflies. You will also be able to spot different species of birds like Magpie-Robin, Scarlet Minivet, Burmese Roller, Re-Vented Bulbul, Himalayan Whistling Thrush, Spotted Forktail etc. The best time to visit is between April to June. During your trip, you should also indulge in other activities like spelunking and tribal tour in Meghalaya.

Namdapha National Park, Arunachal Pradesh
This is the largest national park in the Northeast. It is home to four kinds of felines – common Indian leopard, snow leopard, clouded leopard, and tiger. Other animals that you can spot are Red Giant Flying Squirrels, Musk Deer, Sambar, Gaur, Common Palm Civet etc. You should also keep an eye out for bird species like hornbills, kingfishers, woodpeckers, eagles, and owls. The best time to visit is between October to May.

Orang National Park, Assam
This park has a strong population of one-horned rhinoceros. It is also a safe haven to many animals like tigers, elephants, pygmy hogs, Indian foxes, otters, rhesus macaques, Bengal porcupines etc. You can also spot bird species like Spot-Billed Pelican, Black Necked Stork, Brahminy Duck, etc. The best time to visit is between October to April.
