The trailer of the film Khobh (Anguish) was launched at the Guwahati Press Club on Thursday.
The cast and crew of the film were present on the occasion. The guest of honour was renowned director from Assam, Manju Borah.
Set in a village in Assam, the story of Khobh revolves around the anguish felt by an eleven year old protagonist, Sanju. The film aims to highlight issues that affect teenagers and the importance of a family to stay together in times of crisis, reconciliation at schools for troubled children through proper guidance and the love between a mother and her son in the face of changing fortunes of a family.
The film is directed by national award winning director from Tezpur, Assam, Hiren Bora and produced by Shankar Lal Goenka. The cast include Bishnu kharghuria, Nipon Goswami, Nishita Goswami Aparna Dutta Chowdhury, and child artistes Abhilash Borthakur and Harshita Utpal Das.
One of the actors of the film, Aparna Dutta Chowdhury said, ‘The film deals with a sensitive issue and very few films on this topic have come out of Assam. I would like to say that it’s realistic film.’
The film is all set to release in Assam on September 29, 2017. It has already received accolades at several film festivals and has been screened at the 22nd Cairo International Cinema and Art Festival for Children (2015). The film’s protagonist, Sanju (Abhilash Borthakur) bagged the award for best child artiste at 6th State Film Award festival (2015).
