The happiest music festival is being held in the abode of clouds for the third consecutive time and each year it has attracted a larger number of footfall from different parts of the country as well as the world. We got in touch with some experienced weekender warriors who share useful tips for first timers who will be attending NH7 Weekender, Meghalaya.
Parismita has attended all past editions of the Shillong Weekender. She suggests, festival goers to ‘wear boots and bring your own raincoat.’
Upasana suffered from terrible pain in her legs after all the running she did at the festival ground so she suggests, ‘wear comfortable shoes and take care of your belongings.’
Festival goer Mrinmoy feels that it is important to have enough energy to run across the venue, from one stage to another. So, be sure to stay hydrated and don’t forget to grab quick bites when you are hungry.
Damini, who is a dedicated Nucleya fan, suggests festival goers to dress smart, keeping in mind that it can get hot or cold during the span on one day.
Security can be dicey in festivals and many festival goers tend to have a bad experience because of that. Monica lost some of her belongings after it was stolen from her car. She suggests, ‘don’t leave your valuable belongings in the car. Carry it with you.’
Mrinal, music lover who has attended all the past editions, suggest that if you are planning on drinking (if you are old enough to do so) then you should assign someone responsible (and sober) to look after you. ‘Be sure to charge your phones before leaving for the festival. Also, keep in mind that there may be times when the network might disappear. And, last but not the least, come prepared to listen to some great music encompassing multiple genres. I don’t endorse the festival but it’s called the “happiest music festival” because it is.’
