Eminent artiste Dadul Chaliha from Mangaldai has been nominated for the prestigious 2nd International Prize Leonardo Da Vinci the Universal Artist 2018.

In another achievement, this artist from Mangaldai, now based in Guwahati, has also been invited to take part in the ‘Biennials of the Nations’ organized in Venice from March 16 to March 19,2018. ‘The Biennials of the Nations’ is an event designed to involve many contemporary experienced artists in painting, sculptors, graphics, photography, video art and ceramics.
According to the available information, Dadul Chaliha is the only artist from India nominated for the 2nd International Prize Leonardo Da Vinci the Universal Artist, 2018 and also only Indian to be invited to take part in ‘Biennials of the Nations’ organized in Venice.
It is worth mentioning that earlier Dadul Chaliha was nominated as the lone Indian member in ‘Pycho-Symbolic International Art (PSI-Art)’, an international artists’ forum comprising 10 internationally-acclaimed artists and poets.
Chaliha’s talent was recognized for the first time by renowned artist Neel Pawan Barua. He encouraged Chaliha to take up his passion seriously and this award has shown that Barua’s conviction was justified.
