Over the years, the Northeast has seen more and more national and international acts come and perform in this part of the globe. This December, music lovers will be able to witness Colt Silvers and Last Train live. The bands are in the country for the Bonjour India Rock Tour. They are playing in 10 cities across India, including Shillong, Guwahati and Gangtok.
Hailing from the city of Strasbourg, Colt Silvers comprises of vocalist Tristan, bass player Nicolas, guitarist Florian and drummer Julien. The band started gaining popularity beyond France within a year of their inception with the debut release ‘Night of the Living Robots’ in 2009. Last Train comprises of 4 childhood friends – vocalist Jean-Noel Scherrer, guitarist Julien Peultier, Drummer Antoine Baschung and bass player Timothee Gerard. In 2016, the band won the biggest French festival for upcoming bands, Le Printemps de Bourges.
‘We are very excited to play in so many cities in India. We are looking forward to our trip to the Northeast’
The bands will perform in Shillong on December 1 at Cloud 9, in Guwahati on December 2 at Cafe Hendrix and in Gangtok on December 6 at Cafe Live and Loud.
Even though the bands are visiting the Northeast for the first time, they will not get a chance to explore the region because of their tight schedule. ‘We have been playing back to back shows in 11 cities, sleeping in planes, airports, with hardly any time to venture out. We have about two days off in Pondicherry, unfortunately not in the Northeast. But we hope to be back.’
The tour has been organized as part of Bonjour India 2017-18 which aims to strengthen the Indo-French ties. Bonjour India is a four-month-long mega voyage across India which will include about 100 projects and 300 events 33 cities across 20 States and union territories. The Bonjour India Rock Tour is presented by music management company Mixtape.
