Named after his father’s favourite footballer- England’s former striker Alan Shearar, he was introduced to the world of football at the age of six.
Guwahati’s footballer was selected during a state trial for juniors and soon got enrolled under the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Guwahati and played in the under- 14 Subroto Cup. He takes pride is representing India at the under-13, under-14, under- 16, under-19, under-23 and Senior National team. He scored an International goal in U-23 level against Turkmenistan in AFC qualifying at Qatar in 2017.
He has undergone a two years training at the IMG Academy in Florida, USA and later at the AIFF Elite Academy in Goa. At the AIFF Academy, he was selected to be part of the Nike All Asia Camp where he was invited to join the All Star Squad in Australia. He went on to play for the Shillong Lajong in the summer of 2014.
In ISL 2014, Alen made six appearances for North East United Football Club (NEUFC) with a fearless style of play. Last year, at just under 19 years, Alen Deory, became the youngest player to play in the ISL after substituting Lean Doungel against Chennaiyian FC.
Currently, he is playing for Shillong Lajong Club in I-League.
