Self taught designer from Kohima, Khrielasier Liezietsu, is known for his bold and catchy designs. His latest collection named Kayan Fall/Winter is inspired by the Kayan, a sub tribe of the Tibeto-Burman ethnic minority of Myanmar. They are mostly known for the long neck brass rings which are worn by the womenfolk.
The collection features silhouettes with mix-and-match of contrast; the designer wanted to present a sense of drama, emphasize sharp angels and play with varying tones which can be seen throughout the collection. The main idea behind the designs is to reinvent classic silhouettes and rethink the approach of the Kayan tribe. Khrielasier has used a variety of fabric to bring his ideas to life, ranging from blends of synthetic to natural materials.
