3rd March, 2018: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s General Manager of Assam Telecom Circle, Mr Sandeep Govil today announced that BSNL has stopped providing intra-circular roaming services to Aircel from 11 am today. He also mentioned that the service was provided on request from 13th February which had to be stopped as no payment was received from Aircel. In the press meet, BSNL also announced various prepaid and postpaid customer friendly schemes for mobile and landline customers at a very nominal rate. ‘Ghar Wapsi Plan’ as Holi offer and ‘ASEEM’ plan are some important plans he said.
He also stated that BSNL has an edge over other operators when it comes to download speed according to recent survey by TRAI. BSNL has also launched International Wi-Fi hot-spots across all countries and will be focusing on the tourists spots mainly. He also said that presently there are 275 wi-fi hotspot zones in Assam out of which 165 are in rural areas. Also in collaboration with DoT, BSNL will soon launch 4G services for their customers in Assam.
