It has become very difficult for people to travel by road in the Tinsukia to Talap stretch of the National Highway 37. The road has not been maintained or repaired for a long period of time because of which huge potholes are a sight that you cannot miss. However, it is still possible to pass through when the weather is sunny. It gets much worse for commuters when there is a spell of rain.
Even a mild shower turns these potholes into pools of muddy water. It is becoming such a harrowing experience that commuters think twice before attempting to pass through the stretch. Another big problem is the road mishaps that have increased considerably because of the condition of the road.
Commuters have requested the concerned authority to take immediate action before the monsoon season so that they can travel up and down the stretch without having to go through so much inconvenience.
