Paragliding is one of the most popular adventure activities in the world. In fact, some tourists travel all the way to certain places, only to experience soaring in the sky like a bird. Now tourists travelling to South Sikkim will also be able to experience the thrill of paragliding. Located at Temi, which is popular for its tea estate, it was launched by MLA and minister GM Gurung.
The main motive behind offering paragliding is not only to attract adventure junkies from all over the world but also create opportunities for the local youth.
For a tandem ride, you will need to pay Rs 3,000. The experience will definitely be worth the money as, from up above, flyers will be able to enjoy the view of river Teesta, Temi tea garden and the mountains. The take-off point is Gumba Dara and the landing point is Tea Festival Tar. The flight will last anywhere between 5 to 12 minutes, depending on the weather condition.
