Stutima, who did her masters in development studies from IIT Guwahati, is currently working as an Assistant professor in Girijananda Choudhury Institute of Management and Technology. She is a Visharad in Hindustani Classical Music and has earlier released two albums named “Xopunor Rong” and “Moromor Junbiri”. The traditional Assamese fusion Bihu track by Stutima Basistha’s ‘Haahe Hoi Sorim’ also celebrates the solidarity of Assamese people during the spring season of the year.
‘Haahe Hoi Sorim’ a romantic Assamese single track video fused with a Bihu sung by young singer Stutima Basistha gives us a taste of both traditional and modern music. Composed by Diganta Bharati, the song depicts the spirit of togetherness during the festival season of spring.
The music video casts Stutima Basistha and Anabil Mahanta. Shot across locations in Chandrapur in Guwahati, the video was directed by Samujjal Kashyap. The recording and mixing of the track was done by Ibson Lal Baruah in Guwahati. Targeting the young audience with a taste for Bihu, the song was designed to showcase Bihu in a different light, this fusion with modern songs sets it apart. More tracks of such fusions are to come up in the future, said the singer.
