Jenny Kath Thong is on a mission to help home chefs and bakers make the most delicious desserts. She recently released her cookbook titled Sweet Station. The publisher is Nagaland-based Penthrill Publication House.
The best thing about this book is that it has a section where she has shared yummy cake recipes which can be made using indigenous ingredients like local rice powder, homemade butter, pumpkin, perilla seeds and more.
This mother of three from Nagaland actually learnt how to bake by reading loads of cookbooks and watching TV shows. ‘I started to bake because of my love for cooking and trying out new recipes to treat my loved ones,’ says the cookbook author. She also reveals that her dessert muse is none other than world-famous gourmet and food writer Nigella Lawson.
Sweet-tooth Jenny shares that she loves all kind of desserts. ‘I have many favourites but the ones I that absolutely love are classic cheesecake, tiramisu and flan with lots of cream and fruits.’
Sweet Station is available at Crossword bookstore Kohima, Bible House and online at www.ilandlo.com
The book costs Rs 1000/-
