President of India Ram Nath Kovind has arrived in Tripura yesterday morning in his maiden visit to the state. The President unveiled the lane-expansion project for Tripura’s National Highway.
The project has been dedicated for Udaipur-Sabroom route, as double-lane construction which has already been completed. This is the first double-lane project that state Tripura has got after 70 years of independence.
The President arrived at Agartala Airport at 10.15 am and directly left for Udaipur to inaugurate the new roadways projects there. Governor Tathagata Roy, CM Biplab Deb, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma and other Ministers were present at Udaipur lane-expansion project inauguration programme conducted at Rajarshi Town Hall.
The President began his speech with Tripura’s two local languages saying “Nomoskar” (Bengali) & “Khulumkha” (Kokborok). While addressing Kovind thanked the people of Tripura for the grand welcome.
The President who is on a two days long visit to Tripura said, Tripura youths are energetic and vibrant for doing something new. Kovind in his speech in Rabindra Bhawan further mentioned, “The youth power which is very important for a state’s development in witnessed in Tripura.”
