A satirical Assamese comedy movie ‘ULKA’ is gearing up for release this year. The first look of the movie was released today in the form of poster in the presence of the cast and crew members in Guwahati.
The title song of the movie has been sung by Angaraag Papon Mahanta and another romantic melody ‘Torar Dore’ in the film has been sung by Zubeen Garg. Ibson Lal Baruah, lyricist of both the songs is also the music director for the movie.
Veteran actors like Nipon Goswami, Minu Bania, Arun Hazarika, Baharul Islam and Ashim Kumar Baruah have been cast along with many new faces from the Assamese film industry.
The movie produced under the banner of Eastern Green Pictures is directed by Pranab Vivek and produced by Bhaskar Upadhay.
The storyline of ULKA revolves around the central character, played by Rupam Chetia and how his mundane life is catapulted into glamour after he falls for a prank by his friends.
The director, on the occasion of the first look release, mentioned that few of the events shown in the movie are delivered as tints of essential self reflection and realization, but on a deeper level, the storyline also evaluates the impact of superstitious belief amongst the people.
