The fifth edition of the Indian Screenwriters Conference (ISC) will be held from August 1 to 3 at St Andrew’s Auditorium, Bandra where veteran actorn Aamir Khan shall be present as the chief guest.
Rima Das, award winning filmmaker from Assam, has been invited to the event as one of the panelists. Noted journalist and Padma Shri awardee Vinod Dua will be delivering the keynote address at the inaugural day of the conference; the theme this year is ‘Where Mind Is Without Fear’.
The biennial event is organised by the Screenwriter’s Association. It will see panel discussions on various topics addressed by industry insiders, including Sumeet Vyas, “Haider” writer Basharat Peer, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Akshat Verma, Somen Mishra, Amit Masurkar and others.
Sanjay Chouhan, Conference Convenor, said that the conference is a gathering of not only screenwriters but also directors, producers, television heads, academicians and creative minds.
The conference was started in 2016 with the idea of addressing issues concerning Indian screenwriters and lyricists, while also encouraging dialogue on the surrounding social realities, within and outside the film and TV industries.
