Promoting world peace through music, the Ao Naga Choir group performed at the World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna, Austria recently. The audience was awestruck with their thrilling performance at the Universitätskirche. The performance by Ao Naga Choir showcased traditional Naga cultural heritage along with a concert performed by Vienna Boys Choir at the famous Goldener Saal Musikverein.
Musikverein is considered one of the finest concert halls in the world, along with Berlin’s Konzerthaus, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Boston’s Symphony Hall.
Ao Naga Choir also attended a special Masterclass with Prof Gerald Wirth President and Artistic Director of Vienna Boys Choir at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien also known as The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Members of the choir were awarded diplomas by the WPCF and the United Nations and the ‘Angel of Peace’ Award for their spirit, excellent artistic and social contribution.
The event was supported by the Austrian federal government authorities, the city government of Vienna, the Vienna Boys’ Choir, and the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, NGOs, enterprises and a series of personalities.
The Ao Naga Choir has also been invited to be a part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Astana by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Republican Public Association of Kazakhstan’s Choir Conductors for a major music festival ‘Astana – Voice of the World’.
