Sikkim governor Ganga Prasad inaugurated a six-day long ‘North East Youth Exchange Programme’ at Youth Hostel in Patna. The theme of the programme is ‘Ek Bharat, Shresh Bharat’.
On Day 1, at least 250 youngsters from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and Mizoram took part in the programme, which is jointly being organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Addressing the participants, Prasad said, ‘The objective of the youth exchange programme is to promote the spirit of national integrity by creating a strong bond among states and union territories. While youngsters from other states will get to know the art and culture here, people of Bihar will learn the same about others.’
Other dignitaries, who attended the event, were State Health Minister, Mangal Pandey, Art, Culture And Youth Affairs Minister, Krishna Kumar Rishi, MLA Sanjiv Chaurasia and NYKS Vice-Chairman, Divesh Pratap Singh.
