A first of its kind GPS enabled Solid Waste Management vehicle (SWM) mobile application was launched in Nagaland. Adoption Committee for 8 Western Angami Assembly Constituency under Kohima District Planning and Development Board launched the application. The app was launched by the MLA for 8 Western Angami and Advisor of Ward Adoption Committee, Keneizhakho Nakhro in the presence of CEO Smart City Development Corporation Limited, Kovi Meyase and Ward Panchayat members at APO Building, Kohima.
The pilot project is being initiated by the Ward Adoption Committee in collaboration with KSCD Ltd. The mobile app shall enhance management efficiency and easy accessibility of the SWM vehicles directly interfacing with the citizens on smart phones. Through the app, citizens can track the movement and the speed limit at which the vehicle is plying.
Citizens/users can also get alert on their mobile phones, when the vehicle is approaching the waste collection point. The Adoption Committee urged the denizens of the ward to utilize the service for better efficiency and provide relevant feedbacks, as this is a pilot project, which will be replicated to other wards under the Kohima Smart City, if found successful.
