Northeast United FC is gearing up for ISL 3 opening ceremony scheduled to be held in Guwahati on 1st October. We are looking forward to all the Northeastern players giving it their all on the field so that this time around we get to bring home the trophy. Here is all you need to know about these homegrown talents –
The 19 year old lad from Mizoram is one of the most promising stars of Indian football. He was trained at Liverpool Youth Academy and he broke Baichung Bhutia’s record to become the youngest Indian scorer at the age of 18. His presence can prove deadly for the opposition.
A young player, Holicharan from Assam has vast experience both in the I League as well as in Indian Super League. His service as a winger may prove vital to help keep the scoreboard on our favour.
Reagan has experience so he would be able to help guide the young NEUFC players. He has been part of Northeast United FC last year where he scored a goal for the team. He knows the conditions and environment well.
Jerry has also trained at the Liverpool Youth Academy and is known for his aggression and assists for goals. His partnership with Lalianzuala is well known among fans as they have shared 32 goals and 20 assists for DSK Shivajians. He will be handy both as a playmaker and a striker for Northeast United FC.
A young lad from Mizoram, Fanai is well known for his superb ball control, speed and accurate passing. He will be playing as a midfielder for Northeast United where he will have to support the strikers.
Salam Ranjan Singh
This Manipur youth holds the position of centre back and has played for Bangaluru FC and Pune FC in the I League and have tasted victory with both teams. He is strong in the air and has an excellent positional sense. His performance will be vital for Northeast United FC’s defense.
This will be his second season for Northeast United FC. He was the star winger for his I League team Royal Wanhingdog FC where he scored frequently. The Manipuri Winger’s experience will be crucial for attacking the opposition’s goal.
This robust Sikkimese defender will be wearing the Northeast United jersey for the first time but is not new to ISL as he has previously played for Kerala Blasters. His powerful presence will be a great support for the team.
This nimble footed defender from Sikkim is one of the most experienced player of Northeast United FC as he has represented the team in the previous two seasons. His pace and his excellent positioning will be an added advantage for your boys.
