Political turmoil of Arunachal Pradesh took turn for the worse when protesters attacked the residence of the State’s Chief Minister Kalikho Pul in the wee hours on Saturday.
The protesters believed to be supporters of MLA Er Markio Tado who did it as a mark of protest for omitting Tado’s name from the probable list of the Council of Ministers.
Agitators pelted stones at the Chief Minister’s residence resulting in extensive damage. They also burnt tyres in front of Pul’s residence. In this connection, police has arrested 9 protesters and resorted to lathi charge for dispersing them.
Pul’s council of ministers will take oath today, 7 PM at Raj Bhavan. The probable names in the list include Pema Khandu, Kumar Waii, Chowna Mein, Wanglin Lowandong, and Kamlong Mossang. All these legislators have deserted Tuki and joined Pul’s brigade.
