An angling fest is being hosted in Nagaon on October 1-2. There will also be a workshop on recreational fisheries and eco-tourism during the festival. This two-day affair will be hosted by the Jasingfa fish-based eco-tourism centre in collaboration with the ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal and the Coldwater Fisheries Society of India.
Jasingfa is one of the first ever fish-based eco-tourism centre in the State. It is located in Dimoruguri, Nagaon. Besides the domestic tourists, the centre also attracts a significant number of foreign tourists. Noted scientists, policy makers, anglers, environmentalists, researchers, tourism experts and government officials are due to attend the workshop. During the fest, a special programme on conservation and angling will also feature for the school students.
