Terming the on-going electioneering processes for the bye-poll election in 45-Hayuliang assembly election as anything but against the spirit of democracy, the State BJP has come out strongly against a particular government official, Chief Engineer (Public Health Engineering), Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Lapalum Kri for violating service rules and election code of conduct.
‘It is appalling that the District Returning Officer cum Deputy Commissioner directed Chief Engineer (PHE), Lapalum Kri who is the husband of independent candidate, Yompi Kri to leave the assembly constituency for his place of posting. Despite such official strictures, CE Kri is still stationed here and is taking active part in electioneering processes,’ the BJP release stated.
Claiming that earlier during in the chamber of Returning Officer, CE Kri had threatened to shoot all the politicians when his nomination paper was rejected, BJP further warned that for any untoward incident on BJP candidate and any of the star campaigners, CE Kri shall be held responsible.
Buttering it claims of service rule violation of a serving Chief Engineer, BJP release stated that on November 05, 2016 CE Kri addressed a political rally in support of his spouse and independent candidate, Yompi Kri at Hayuliang ground.
Stating that CE Kri’s photographs are displayed alongside his spouse in several of the electioneering posters across the assembly constituency, BJP has demanded the government to initiate strict action against CE Kri.
‘We appeal to Khandu led NEDA government to ensure free, fair and smooth bye-poll election in hounour of former chief minister late Kalikho Pul,’ release stated.
