The National Book Trust, India and the Government of Assam are jointly organizing a three-day Brahmaputra Literary Festival. It will start on January 28, 2017 at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. The name is a tribute to the mighty river Brahmaputra.
The literature fest aims to create a platform for budding writers to engage in dialogue and debate with authors of national and international repute. It is also an attempt at fostering a better understanding of the literary and cultural landscape of the region at the national and international level. The festival is likely to witness the participation of nearly 75 authors including children book artists, graphic artists, filmmakers, script-writers and others.
Chief Secretary of the State, VK Pipersenia, said the festival is going to emerge as one of the major attractions of the State at a recent media interaction.
