The fourth edition of the North East festival – Connecting People, Celebrating Life will be held in Delhi from November 4-6. A rock competition where around 60 teams are participating will precede the festival. The rock competition will see the colleges/bands of Delhi fight it out at the Dilli Haat on October 28 and 29. The winning team will get a trip to Dubai, and the second and third teams will get a trip to a domestic destination.
The highlight of the event will be a musical extravaganza where icons from the Northeast like Papon, Zubeen Garg, Borkung Hrangkhal, DJ Zaeden, Traffic Jam, Fourth Element, Mo & the Shooting Stars, Reverse Tragedy, and Punjabi folk singers and many more are set to perform.
Apart from that, there will be around 20 folk dance performances, the famous Ram Bijoy Ankiya Bhaona of Assam will be presented by Sangeet Natak Akademi, Raas Leela from Manipur and fashion show with stylish presentation of NE handloom will be some of the other key attractions there. Another special attraction will be an exotic presentation of ethnic Northeast cuisine by around 30 food stalls.
