Rilbong Sports and Cultural Club is hosting a unique food festival on December 3 in Shillong. Some of the best local talents will demonstrate their culinary skills live on-the-spot. The event will also witness a display of the traditional food platters (thali) of different communities in the cosmopolitan Shillong. Also, on display, there will be a wide variety of food carvings and salad dishes.
For the competition on some delectable home-made foods, Shillong will see talented men and women vie for cash prizes, utility gift prizes and gift hampers. Also, Shillong’s Indian Institute of Hotel Management will be actively involved with the event.
The club is also in talks with a team from Bangladesh to showcase their much famed delicacies. They have also made provision for the sale of food; both vegetarian and non-vegetarian alike. The event will also have mouth-watering snacks and ice cream counters in addition to live music and games to give it a more carnival-like feel.
