Mukesh Pandey, the District Magistrate of Bihar’s Buxar, commited suicide yesterday at a railway station in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad area. A highly honoured IAS Officer and Brilliant personality, Pandey secured 14th Rank in UPSC 2012. Pandey, who originally hailed from Bihar’s Chhapra was a resident of Guwahati’s Bamunimaidam area.
Mukesh Pandey had left behind a suicide note which read, ‘I am committing suicide in district centre area of Janakpuri, west Delhi near Hotel Piccadilly by jumping off the 10th floor of the building. I am fed up with my life. I don’t believe in human existence anymore. I am sorry. I love you all! Please forgive me!’
Prior to committing suicide, Pandey left an SMS to his relatives saying that he is going to jump off from the 10th floor of a building in Delhi’s Janakpuri and also added that he had left his suicide note in a Nike bag, in Room No. 742 of Hotel Leela Palace.
Before serving in Bihar’s Buxar, Pandey had worked in Begusarai’s Ballia sub-division as an SDM (sub-divisional magistrate) and in Bihar’s Katihar as a DDC.
